“Spring into Showing” Seminar

Gets USDF University Credit!

PVDA is proud to announce that the training program for show volunteers and show preparation:

Spring Into Showing” (to be held on February 20, 2010 in Annapolis, MD), has been approved by the USDF for USDF University credit.  The course number is #101748 and can earn a maximum of 1 credit(s). Participants must be current USDF participating, group, or intercollegiate/interscholastic members at the time of the program in order to earn USDF University credit.

As with the PVDA’s popular  Tea is for Training, novice or relatively novice volunteers can learn how to perform those  skilled show jobs that make it all possible from the most experienced members we have.

Courses include:

·         Setting up a Dressage Ring

·         Scoring

·         Ring Steward and Bit/Equipment Checking

·         Serving as a runner

·         Show Manager

·         Show Secretary (recognized shows)

·         Show Rules, Etiquette, and the role of the Technical Delegate

In addition, PVDA is offering the following seminars:

·         Introduction to Designing One’s Own Musical Freestyle with EquiChord

·         Preparation for Showing with Felicitas von Neuman-Cosel (FEI level rider and trainer)

·         Veterinary Lecture by Dr. Susan Mende

·         Nutritional Seminar sponsored by Nutrena!

Through the gracious permission of Janet Richardson-Pearson , the event will be held at the lovely and comfortable facilities of the Chesapeake Dressage Institute, on Mas Que Road in Annapolis MD.  Click here for directions.

Enjoy a lovely spring themed luncheon and tea in the tradition of the British/Irish isles during the breaks for a nominal charge of $5/person.  Sign up for as many courses as you can fit into your schedule.  There will be door prizes! There is only a $5 charge for those seeking USDF University credit – all-in-all, this is a bargain! Well, there is one catch – participants must take one course for a show job and will be asked to sign a pledge to work in the roles they’ve trained for at one PVDA schooling or recognized show in 2010.
